Fired Up Kitchens specializes in the design, construction and installation of handcrafted living spaces for cooking and entertaining. With an emphasis on natural style, we blend artisan craftsmanship and modern sensibilities for outdoor kitchens that can satisfy the most demanding cook, the most discerning guest and the most discriminating tastes.

Our team of craftsmen, metalworkers, fabricators and designers, led by top chef and master stonemason Peter de Jong, draws inspiration from centuries-old Mediterranean, Asian and Southwestern cooking traditions and building techniques. We create spaces centered around wood-fired ovens and entertainment islands, incorporating new trends with classics that never fail.

PETER DE JONG
Owner Peter de Jong is a third-generation chef with a 25 year career in fine restaurants that spans top stints at the James Beard House in NYC and the 4-star Beaufort Inn in South Carolina, articles in Gourmet and Southern Living and featured appearances on the Food Network and the Discovery Channel's Great Chefs series, to name a few.

His chef's instincts for form and function sent him to Europe, where he studied old-world masonry under the guidance of 5th and 6th generation artisans in Spain, France and Italy. With Fired Up Kitchens, de Jong has combined his culinary talents and artisan construction skills to bring the al fresco lifestyle to the ordinary backyard.

MATERIALS
Fired Up Kitchens specializes in the use of natural construction materials—stone, wood, metal. We source locally wherever possible.

WOOD-FIRED OVENS
We use several of the premier imported Italian wood-fired ovens. Renown for their fine quality and excellent cooking performance, our imported ovens combine traditional design with state-of-the-art refractory and insulating materials. Unlike other wood-fired ovens, that can take 2-3 hours or more, our ovens reach the perfect temperature for cooking pizza (750+ degrees) in as little as 40 minutes — baking authentic Italian pizza in two minutes. And they retain heat for hours of baking and roasting. Choose from a wide range of models and sizes to find the pizza oven that is right for your outdoor or indoor kitchen, and enjoy the pleasure of professional wood-fired cooking at your home.

PRE-ASSEMBLED OVENS
Our pre-assembled line of wood-fired ovens are manufactured in our warehouse facilities in CA and NY and shipped anywhere in the US or Canada.

Before they are built and shipped the pre-assembled ovens are designed and manufactured with your specifications based on an array of choices including design, color, shape, chimney top and landing/arch.

Our consultants work with you to determine the style and details of your wood-fired oven and your exact cooking needs. If you plan to do mostly baking and roasting we add additional thermal mass so the oven stores the right amount of heat. If you mainly want to cook pizza a brick oven that heats up quickly is the way to go.

Pre-assembled ovens come in two parts—the oven, and the stand. Ovens can also be ordered without a stand, ready to incorporate it into an existing design or pre-built structure.

Upon arrival at your location they can be situated in your yard, by the pool, or virtually anywhere outdoors—ready to fire and start cooking.
